National Service Scheme

INTRODUCTION :

National Service Scheme (NSS) was introduced in 1969 with the primary objective of developing the personality and character of the student youth through voluntary community service. ‘Education through Service’ is the purpose of the NSS. The ideological orientation of the NSS is inspired by the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi. Very appropriately, the motto of NSS is “NOT ME, BUT YOU”. An NSS volunteer places the ‘community’ before ‘self’. Start of NSS in our college in year 1974.

Over all object of NSS

  • To develop a national consciousness among the youth
  • To generate social awareness among the students
  • To promote the dignity of labour among the educated.
  • To strengthen the spirit of service and sacrifice in the younger generation.

VISION :

The vision is to build the youth with the mind and spirit to serve the society and work for the social uplift of the down-trodden masses of our nation as a movement.

MISSION :

The National Service Scheme has been functioning with the motto “NOT ME BUT YOU” in view of making the youth inspired in service of the people and hence NSS Aims Education through Community Service and Community Service through Education.

MOTO :

The motto of the National Service Scheme (NSS) is "Not Me But You". This motto reflects the idea that the welfare of an individual is dependent on the welfare of society as a whole. It also emphasizes the need for selfless service, appreciation of other people's perspectives, and consideration for others.

CREDIT ELIGIBILITY :

  • 120 hours of service in two academic years or Special camping programme for seven days .
  • Participation in National level or State level camps.

  • To give knowlegde about Health, hygiene, sanitation, of rural area (Preferably by adapting village within the easy reach of college).
  • Eye and health checkup
  • Dental Checkup.
