The Department of English was established to teach English Language under foundation course. The subject is compulsory at undergraduate level for both Science and Home Science students. The teaching of Language as such is done with the objective of improving the communicative skills of the students. Besides the class room teaching, extra curricular activities like quiz competition, Debates , elocution are organized at college as well as inter collegiate level.

A Computer Laboratory has been established comprising of 21 computers with broadband facility. The Laboratory is used for teaching the third paper of Foundation Course i.e. “Basics of Computer and Information Technology” to V & VI semester students. Free Internet access is given to every student.
