The department of Mathematics
is the pride of the college as it is running popular vocational courses like
Computer Application & Computer Science. The Department has produced some of the
best students who are earning fame for themselves and for the college. In 1958
when the college started, the Department of Mathematics was also established and
till date the department has achieved many milestones. Computer Application was
started under the UGC scheme with UGC grant. At present it is run under the
self-finance scheme. Another vocational course is Computer Science.

The Department of Mathematics , Govt. M.H. College of Home Science & Science for
Women (Autonomous) Jabalpur, would be a centre for innovative & quality teaching
learning, with collaborate work, thus developing entrepreneurial skills, analytic & logical
thinking among students & exposing them to technology.

The Fascinating World of Mathematics :- Mathematics develops critical, Logical & analytical thinking skills which are useful in all areas of life. It develops structured approach to problem solving & helps decisions making. Mathematics is the foundation of almost all fields including engineering, finance, Medicine natural Science, Physics etc. It promotes brain functioning & boosts moral health.
A mathematics degree opens a large arena of career options, such as in banking, finance, IT, engineering, teaching & research, market research medicine & health, petroleum & nuclear industries space science & astronomy & many more.

Activity Group
Ramanujam club is the activity club of the department for the students of Computer Application & Computer Science. They organize various activities like debate
competition, poster competition,
quiz in the Department. Department publish Ganana the departmental magzine every year.

- In the present session 2018-19 department organized a two days National Seminar on "PARALLEL COMPUTING AND OPTIMIZATION TECHNIQUES"
- One of the guest faculty of the department Dr. Arjun Mehra awarded Ph-D degree.
A Glimpse of The Department of Mathematics & Computer
The Department of Mathematics, Govt. M. H. College of Home Science & Science for Women Jabalpur (M.P.) was established in July 1958 with a mission to sharpen the Mathematical proficiency of the students and develop a vibrant Mathematical intuition in the students. Presently the department is offering under graduate and post graduate programs in Mathematics and is running self financing courses in Computer Applications and Computer Science.
Every year the department is imparting quality education to about twelve hundred students of under graduate as well as post graduate level. The students are prepared for career in teaching and other professions through academics, internships, workshops, seminars, educational tours and various activities.
The department has a rich Library with about 3250 books catering to the post graduate students of the department, Two well equipped Computer Laboratory for the students of Computer Application & Computer Science, highly qualified & dedicated teachers, co-operative supporting staff and a congenial atmosphere.
