Management Information System MIS
Objective:The Application Software was developed for the purpose
of computerizing the various activities of the institution like Admissions,
Students Management, Staff Management and Accounts Management, Attendance
management for staff and Students, Examination Management and Hostel Management.
Software Platform: The Application Software being developed is
web-enabled. The software is independent of the client platforms and is browser
based. It can be operated from any client having a web browser working on it.
The Application is being developed in ASP. Net as the front end. SQL Server 2003
is used as the backend RDBMS.
Composition of the Application Software: As per the
requirements the Application Software has been divided into different modules.
Admissions Module:The entire process of admissions is taken care
of in this module. This process consists of
- Application Form Submission
- Verification of Application Forms
- Admission List Generation
- Fee-Payment & Registration
The Fee-Payment is linked to the Accounts Module where the
Accounting of the amounts is maintained as required. The Registration is linked
to the Students Module where the master data for a student is maintained. As
soon as the student is registered she is provided a unique Registration Number.
Admissions List Generation is fully automatic. List can be generated
Course-wise, Category-wise as per the admission rules.
Student Module: As soon as the student is admitted and pays the
fees she is registered into the database and is provided a permanent and unique
Registration No. The student's module takes care of the data. When a student is
promoted to the next year her class automatically changes from I year to II year
as soon as she pays the fee. This is linked to the Exam Module of the Software
and the fees payment is again linked to the Accounts Module. The student module
also includes obtaining and registering the Students University Enrollment
number. It also caters to the formalities for pass outs / outgoing students.
Staff Module: This module helps in maintaining the Personal
Information of all the Staff Members; Teaching and Non Teaching. This includes
Personal, Family, Academic and Nomination details of Teaching and non-teaching
Staff.
Attendance Module: This module is used for recording the details
of Attendance of the Students and Staff of the college. Student Attendance for
Theory/Practical is recorded monthly. Consolidated Attendance, for Theory /
Practical report could be generated as per the necessity. Apart from this Staff
Leaves Management for Teaching / Non Teaching is also incorporated.
Exam Module: This module is developed to handle the entire
examination process. The module takes care of roll number initialization, roll
list generation, maximum and minimum passing marks master as per the specified
rules, obtained marks feeding master, internal assessment marks master and Mark
Sheet and result Generation.
Accounts Module: This module is developed to handle the accounts
like U.G.C, Higher Education (Govt) and Non Government. Ledger books (head and
subhead wise) and cashbooks (head wise) reports are designed for each type of
account mentioned above. This module maintains the overall record of allotment
to expenses. The module is capable of generating DFC and GFC automatically.
Hostel Module: this modules takes care of management of Hostel.
As soon as the student is admitted in the hostel and pays the hostel fee she is
registered into the hostel database and is provided a unique hostel Registration
No. The fee payment is linked to the Account Management. DFC & GFC & Cash Book
are generated automatically. The module also handles the management of mess,
account of permanent articles & out & in record of students.
Provision of Security: The Software design provides security of
access to different users of the various modules of the software. A user having
specific authentication can only access the specified module
