Introduction

The B.Sc. Biotechnology course was established in this college in 2002, integrated within the Department of Zoology and Biotechnology under the Self Finance Scheme. The various Biotechnology Co-ordinators include Dr. Subha Ghosh, Dr. Haninder Maini, Dr. Shashi Bala Shrivastava, Dr. Sadhana Kesharwani and Mrs. Rashmi Singrore, who guided the department with their expertise.

The curriculum is comprehensive covers a wide range of topics in detail, including theoretical and practical aspects. The program utilizes a variety of teaching methods, including lectures, practical classes, discussions, and presentations, to enhance learning. Students have access to valuable resources like the internet, digital libraries, and multimedia tools. The program is taught by experienced faculties with expertise in the field of Biotechnology. Renowned scientists from other institutions provide valuable insights and industry perspectives.

The faculty motivates students to engage in research, curricular, and extracurricular activities to enhance their intrinsic and extrinsic capabilities. Over the years, the department has had distinguished scientists and subject experts as staff members, and many alumni have held important positions in reputed institutions or government jobs in India and abroad. The faculty actively participate in guiding dissertation/internship/project in various fields such as Fermentation Technology, Microbial Biotechnology, Environmental Biotechnology, Biodiversity, Agricultural Biotechnology. They are also actively involved in the publication of books, magazines, and research papers under renowned publications.
